Cemetery Rules & Regulations
General Use
- Plots shall be used only as a place of burial for the dead.
- The land is subject to the provisions of the Town of Biscoe charter and any amendments.
Markers and Structures
- Headstones, foot markers, monuments, and sepulchral structures are permitted.
- All markers and structures must be made of rock or stone.
- Materials such as plastic, wood, or other organic or biodegradable materials are not permitted.
- Flat markers at ground level are allowed.
- Foot markers must be flush with the ground.
Flowers and Vases
- Flowers and vases must be attached to headstones.
Burial Requirements
- Burial vaults are required for caskets.
- Vaults are not required for hermetically sealed urns.
Obstructions and Maintenance
- No obstructions will be allowed that prevent access for maintenance or upkeep of the grounds (including benches).
- The Town is responsible for planting and maintaining grass and keeping lots neat and orderly.
- Grantees must not interfere with the Town’s ability to maintain the lots.
Fences
- No fence shall be placed or erected in or around any lot.
